About <span class='italic'>Raising Standards</span>


Raising Standards is a professional services consultancy created by Dr Sharon McCallum, who has more than 25 years’ experience in human and business services.

Sharon has been a consultant in her company Sharon McCallum & Associates Pty Ltd since 1997.   Raising Standards, her new business, focuses on ethical and professional standards.  Dr McCallum is committed to:

  • Improving professional performance of management and staff
  • Creating customized solutions to problems
  • Developing collaboration and partnerships in situations of contest and competition
  • Ensuring organizational change occurs in a climate of respect to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Dr McCallum has worked across jurisdictions and public and private sectors and has been the link in complex working relationships between multiple parties.  This has often involved trouble shooting, conflict and dispute resolution, and negotiations over contested resources and processes.  Much of her work is recorded in reports and organizational documents.

Dr McCallum holds a PhD in Social Work and is working towards a Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Dispute Resolution.  She holds certificates in investigative services and government investigations.  She is accredited with the Australian Association of Social Workers Pty Ltd and is a member of the Australian Dispute Resolution Association.  She sits on a number of national bodies which oversee the ethical and professional conduct of service providers.
